I bought this for my daughter when she was starting to walk, and it is a nice-looking thing; wooden and retro and the alligators are very cute and all that. However, I just don’t see how this can be any good unless you live in, like, The Overlook Hotel or some big modern loft with smoothly carpeted or concrete floors. Because this thing just does not work in a little Craftsman bungalow with wonky hardwoods covered in oriental rugs. It gets caught on everything (especially fringes) and causes baby much frustration with steering because of the wheels, you see. I’ve found that my daughter (who walks well on her own now) much prefers to push around a $5 plastic laundry basket which has the added bonus of providing a place for her to ride when I push her.

My kids love it, but it is loud! It is really sturdy and the rubber on the wheels makes it much easier to push than the plastic versions for my 11 month old son. It does its job well as a walker, but beware if you like peace adn quiet in your home.

I was dissapointed when I received this toy because it was dusty and it looked used. It seemed like too much hassel to send it back and my son saw me take it out of the box, so I just put it together. One of the wheels doesn’t turn all that well and when he pushes it, sometimes it just slides. When it does roll, I like it…I like the idea of the toy, it just doesn’t seem all that well made, but maybe I just got a bad one.

Our little one loves the Melissa and Doug Wooden Chomp and Clack Alligator. It’s noisy, it’s sturdy, it’s fun. Little new walkers or “prewalkers” will love the action and ability to get around in style. We couldn’t be more pleased.

toysohtoys.com is very informative. The article is very professionally written. I enjoy reading toysohtoys.com every day.

My son got this pull toy for his 1st birthday. He loves chasing it around the house as we pull it. He isn’t walking yet, but I know he will love to pull it when he does. He had a frog-themed birthday party, so this frog was a hit. The legs move up and down as you pull it, which makes it interesting to watch and so cute. The quality is pretty good. The rubber on the wheels isn’t consistent all the way around, so some of the wood touches the ground. The paint is wearing off in those places. Other than that, it is a great toy. That one thing would not keep me from buying it. Also, unlike many pull toys, the string seems long enough for pulling (some have really short strings). My 5 year old twin girls have a blast pulling it around for my son!
