I’ve been looking a long time @ vintage Barbie cases but they didn’t hold up thru the years. I’ve had my gorgeous blue Barbie trunk since 1963, so to finally get a new case was a thrill…this is the one my girlfriends had, bulging with outfits since it holds very little. It is overpriced and doesn’t even come with the accessory drawer. But it makes me happy & is a great sense memory with the same new plastic smell I remember. And finally my original Skipper doll has her own case after 45 years!

Usually when Mattel re-creates its vintage items they are exact replicas of the original. This product is NOT. The drawer for the accessories is missing. The outer case for the drawer is there, but no actual drawer. I’m sure this was a cost savings decision. You would think that for the 50th anniversary Mattel would have included the drawer in the reproduction, as any Barbie fan will immediately notice this flaw.
